Invite Holistic Healing Into Your Life

Learn about the transformative healing potential of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Intensive

Wildest Dreams Therapy partners with Journey Clinical to provide a safe and supportive container for deep healing with virtual Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). KAP is a holistic therapeutic treatment modality that pairs traditional psychotherapy with a psychedelic medicine called Ketamine. KAP can help you achieve more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvements to your overall emotional wellness.

At Wildest Dreams Therapy, we believe that you should feel empowered to integrate psychedelics into your treatment whether you’re interested in processing past traumas, strengthening your relationships, exploring your identities and experiences, and more. The use of ketamine within a therapeutic relationship can support people to better identify and work through difficult experiences and behavior patterns, providing new insights and healing that might not have been possible otherwise.

What is ketamine?
Understanding the medicine

Ketamine is a legal, safe, and effective medicine known to have antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects that begin as soon as 1-2 hours after treatment, and can last for up to two weeks. Ketamine encourages neuroplasticity, which means that your brain has greater capacity to facilitate personal discovery, growth, and lasting change.

Ketamine can be administered in a number of ways including IV infusion, intramuscular injection, via nasal spray and using sublingual lozenges. In your work with Wildest Dreams Therapy, ketamine would come in the form of sublingual lozenges that are self-administered orally.

What Does The KAP Process Look Like?
understanding how ketamine-assisted psychotherapy works

1. Initial Consultation You will meet with a Journey Clinical prescriber who will check your eligibility for KAP and fill your ketamine prescription

2. Preparation Session We will meet to align on the process and set intentions for the KAP dosing session

3. Medicine Sessions You will self-administer your ketamine lozenge during our remote session. You will identify a trusted chaperone to be on standby for any of the in-person needs that come up during the session

4. Integration Sessions We will review the memories, thoughts & insights that arise during your dosing sessions. We will explore how to integrate your experience into your daily life

5. Follow-up Consultations You will meet with your Journey Clinical prescriber for prescription refills if eligible

Frequently Asked Questions

  • KAP is primarily being explored as a potential treatment for various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and some substance use disorders. Additionally, KAP can be useful for anyone looking to experience profound and transformative experiences that can aid in personal growth, self-discovery, and spiritual exploration.

The suitability of KAP for a specific individual will be determined through a thorough assessment by our medical partners who will consider each person's unique circumstances and treatment needs.

  • The duration of the intensive varies depending on your own desires for treatment & the frequency of medicine sessions that is recommended to you by our prescribers.

Everyone’s body and therapeutic needs are different, so the frequency of medicine sessions can vary from person to person. Some individuals may engage in one medicine session, while others may want to engage in multiple. Some may choose to engage in medicine sessions weekly, biweekly, or on an even more spaced-out frequency. We can explore together what feels like the right approach for you.

Your feeling of safety is paramount, so we want you to know that you can always discontinue treatment at any point in the process, whether that is prior to or during a medicine session.

  • The effects of ketamine, which most patients find pleasant, last for approximately 45 minutes. These effects can make you feel “far from” your body, and facilitate shifts in perception that can often feel expansive in nature. Ketamine can enhance or induce feelings such as creativity, purpose, perspective, serenity, insight, inspiration, gratitude, empathy, connection, & openness to new ideas. Your motor and verbal abilities will be reduced, so you’ll be lying down in a comfortable position during the experience.

Once these effects subside, we’ll spend the remainder of our appointment giving you space to process and discuss your experience. While it may feel hard to articulate what happens during the experience, patients feel like the insights gained are clear.

  • You may be interested in exploring KAP treatment, but are already working with an individual therapist. That’s perfect! You do not have to be an ongoing therapy client at Wildest Dreams Therapy to engage in our KAP Intensive.

One indisputable fact about Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is that continuing with ongoing therapy even after your KAP treatment is always ideal to ensure that you have the support that you need to maintain all of the new routines, practices, and behaviors that you developed through your KAP treatment.

Wildest Dreams Therapy partners with you and your current individual therapist to integrate your care and provide the supportive healing experience that you deserve. We’ll keep your therapist in the loop throughout our KAP Intensive and support you in coming up with a post-treatment plan that you can continue to explore and implement with your therapist.

  • Although much of the available research shows that KAP is most effective when a patient undergoes a sequence of 6-8 medicine sessions, you are absolutely welcome to engage in just one medicine session. We understand that this could be an important way to see how ketamine feels in your body, and whether or not you’re comfortable with using this medicine again. After the first medicine session, you can decide whether or not you want to engage in more KAP sessions.
